Split view

Keep up to four chats beside each other in the panel, and size each one.

Open a chat beside another

Click the split button beside + and pick a chat you have open or a new chat with any AI. Or right-click a tab and choose Open beside this chat. You can have up to four at once.

Size each chat

Drag the line between two chats, and only those two change. Double-click the line to even them out, or focus it with the keyboard and use the arrow keys.

When the panel is narrow

Chats sit in a row while each has at least 180 pixels, and stack top to bottom when it doesn’t. For a row of three or four, drag the edge of the panel wider, or choose ⋯ > Open in its own window.

Working in a split

  • Click inside a chat to select it. Tools such as Add this page go to the selected chat.
  • Click a tab that isn’t showing and it takes the selected chat’s place.
  • The × on a chat removes it from view, and it stays in your tabs.
  • The expand button beside the × shows only that chat again.
  • Your layout comes back when you reopen the panel.

To send one question to every chat on screen, see Compare AIs.
