Sideview is a desktop browser extension. Chrome 116 or later is the browser we test most; it also works in Edge, Firefox 140 or later, Brave and Vivaldi.
Chrome
- Open the Sideview listing on the Chrome Web Store and choose Add to Chrome.
- Click the puzzle-piece button in the toolbar and pin Sideview, so its icon is always there.
- Click the icon, or press Alt + Shift + S, to open the panel.
Microsoft Edge
Open the Sideview listing on Microsoft Edge Add-ons in desktop Edge, choose Get, then Add extension. Pin Sideview from the Extensions menu and click its icon to open the sidebar.
Firefox
Open the Sideview listing on Firefox Add-ons in desktop Firefox 140 or later and choose Add to Firefox. Sideview opens in Firefox’s sidebar, from its toolbar button, the sidebar or Alt + Shift + S. To give chats more room, you can hide Firefox’s sidebar header.
Firefox opens its sidebar only from its own controls, so after you send from the Pro Quick chat dock, open Sideview and your message is sent there. Quick search is Alt + Shift + K in Firefox.
Brave, Vivaldi and other browsers
Brave and Vivaldi support Chrome extensions and sidebars: install Sideview from the Chrome Web Store listing. We test mostly in Chrome, so some sign-ins may behave differently there. Not every browser that accepts Chrome extensions has the sidebar Sideview needs; if its panel won’t open, use a current desktop Chrome. Phones and Safari aren’t supported.
Check your version and update
Open ⋯ > Settings > About to see the installed version. Browsers update extensions automatically once a version is published. An open panel or settings page can delay an update, so close Sideview or restart the browser to let it apply. In Chrome you can also open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode and click Update.
