Release notes
What changed in each version of the Sideview extension.
1.1.0
October 21, 2026 · Version 1.1.0
- Open several chats with the same AI or different providers. Reorder tabs by dragging, hover for a preview, and return to the same conversations when you reopen Sideview. Unused tabs sleep to save memory.
- The + button starts another chat with the selected provider. Use the arrow beside it to choose another AI. Closing your last tab opens a home page where you can start fresh or reopen the chat you just closed.
- Settings now open inside the panel, with search and one section at a time. The menu groups the chat tools in one place. You can also choose whether to remember chats, manage microphone and camera access, or delete your saved data.
- Claude shows its full interface, including chat history and projects. Perplexity and DeepSeek return to the provider list, and all provider sites are available after install.
- Pro adds an optional Quick chat dock on web pages. Turn it on in Settings to ask a question, include the page or a screenshot, and send it to your chosen AI. Activating Pro also shows a welcome and plan badge.
- Chat exports now check that they capture the selected conversation, skip hidden messages, and include the source link and export time. Separate PDF exports keep their own copies for printing and reprinting.
1.0.0
First release on the Chrome Web Store
- Keep ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI chats open in Chrome’s side panel while you move between tabs. Open or close it from the toolbar icon or with Alt+Shift+S.
- Each provider keeps its conversation while you switch, and uses the account you are already signed in to. When a provider needs you to sign in, Sideview opens sign-in in a tab and reloads the panel once you are done.
- Settings for the provider to start with, the theme, which providers you see and in what order, and freeing memory from providers you aren’t using.
- Sideview Pro adds a command palette, sending the page or a screenshot to the chat, right-click Summarize, Explain and Translate, saved prompts, comparing providers side by side, exporting chats, and site rules.
