Send a page, picture or file to the chat

Put the page, a selection, a screenshot, a PDF or a transcript in the chat box.

Sideview reads a page only when you ask, and puts what it read in the chat box of the AI you chose. Nothing is sent until you press send.

With Pro, right-click selected text or the page and choose to send it, or use the keyboard shortcut.

The page

Right-click the page and choose Add this page, press Alt + Shift + P, or use Quick search.

Pictures

Press Alt + Shift + C to send a screenshot of what’s on screen. The AI and your plan with it need to accept images.

Nothing appeared in the chat box

Make sure the panel is open and the AI has finished loading, then try again from the page itself: browsers only let Sideview read a page when you ask from that page. The Quick search version works only on the tab you last opened Sideview from.

Why it asked for access to all sites

A click inside the panel doesn’t give access to the page beside it, so taking a screenshot from the panel needs the optional all-sites permission. Without it, screenshots still work from the keyboard shortcut or right-click menu on the page. Browsers block access to their own pages and stores either way.
